2018 ANNUAL BANQUET AWARDEES
The fire department holds an annual banquet in January each year to recognize the efforts of its members in serving the community the previous year. Each year, a Firefighter of the Year award is presented to the firefighter that went above and beyond the normal expectations and a Most Incidents award for the firefighter making the greatest number of alarms the previous year.
Additionally, service awards are presented in five-year increments to those members achieving 20, 25, 30, 35 etc. years of continuous service. Members reach Honorary Life Membership status after achieving 20 years of continuous active service. Below are some pictures of the 2018 awardees and their achievements. Firefighter of the Year: Barry Smith, for reinvigorating the office of the Chaplain, creating the department's Honor Guard Unit, responding to 95 alarms and continuing his desire to assist fellow firefighters in their spiritual time of need.
Most Incidents: William "Bill" Zaverl for answering the call to duty 261 times in 2017 [64.4%]. He was a former President, Vice President, Trustee, Line Officer and Fire Chief. Bill is currently the Relief Assoc. Secretary.
2018 Annual Service Awards
William "Bud" Myers for achieving 65 years of service. Bud served for many years as the Treas. of the Relief Association as well as Chaplain and Line Officer. Bud is the longest-standing member, having joined in 1951!
Paul Todd for achieving 45 years of service with the department. Paul is a former Fire Chief, Trustee and served as a Line Officer as well.
David Hauger for achieving 45 years of service with the department. Dave is also a former Fire Chief, Secretary and Line Officer.
Gregory Todd for achieving 40 years of service with the department. Greg is also a former Vice President, Trustee and Line Officer.
Merle Loucks for achieving 40 years of service with the department. Keith is also a former Fire Chief, Trustee and Line Officer.
William Fox for achieving 40 years of service with the department. Bill is also a former Trustee and Line Officer and is currently the Relief Assoc. Vice President.
Anthony Stillitano for achieving 25 years of service with the department. Tony is currently the Engine Captain and long-standing Treasurer.
Also receiving awards were:
William "Bill" Byers for fifty  years of service. Bill was a former Line Officer, President and served as a long-standing Treas. of the Relief Assoc. He is currently Relief Assoc. President.
Darryl Hull for forty-five  years of service. Darryl was a long-standing President, Trustee and Relief Assoc. Secretary.
Daniel Emanuel for forty-five  years of service. Dan was a former Vice President.
